Major General John W. Baker will speak on the “Nexus Between Cyber Law and Data Analytics” at Noon on Thursday, September 15 in room 2500 Wesley W. Posvar Hall. The event is sponsored by Pitt Law, Pitt Information Sciences and the Matthew Ridgway Center. The lecture is open to all University students, faculty and staff.

Major General Baker is a 1985 graduate of Norwich University where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Armor. Baker has served extensive command assignments from Germany to Bosnia to Iraq.
In July 2007, Baker assumed command of the 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade at Fort Gordon, Georgia, and in June 2010 he was assigned as Chief, Commander’s Initiatives Group (CIG), United States Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Georgia. From June 2014 to July 2016, Baker commanded the 7th Signal Command (Theater) at Fort Gordon. Baker holds Master’s degrees from Central Michigan University and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
