David Marttala Promoted to Colonel
 The Ridgway Center is pleased to announce that Lt. Col. David Marttala was recently promoted to Colonel. At a ceremony on October 10th, Colonel Marttala and his family celebrated his promotion at the Pacific Command (Hawaii) where he is presently stationed.
Colonel Marttala was the 2007-2008 US Air Force Military Fellow. While at the Ridgway Center, Colonel Marttala was busy with speaking engagements, classes and working on research. His research entitled, "The 'In Lieu of' Myth - Airmen in Joint Ground Operations" was ranked second out of over 100 papers submitted by other outstanding officers in the program. Colonel Marttala continued the success of the long list of outstanding officers to serve a tour at the University of Pittsburgh. He was the 25th officer to be promoted to Brigadier General or Colonel after completing their research at the Matthew B. Ridgway Center for International Security Studies.
